Your first visit is an airway consultation. It's unhurried, it's hands-on, and it's built to answer one question: what's really going on with your (or your child's) breathing and sleep? Here's how it works and how to get ready.
How it works, step by step
Book
Request a time online or call (801) 893-0234. We'll ask a few questions about what's going on.
Paperwork
We'll send your new patient forms ahead of time so your visit can focus on you.
Your consultation
A 3D CBCT airway scan, a digital intraoral scan, photos, and a hands-on exam, in about an hour for kids and about 90 minutes for adults.
Your plan
Dr. Buxton walks you through what he sees and your options, in plain language. No pressure, just answers.
A few things that help
- Your completed new patient forms
- A photo ID and your dental and medical insurance cards
- Any recent sleep study results, or your CPAP data if you use one
- A list of current medications
- For kids: notes on sleep, snoring, and anything a pediatrician, dentist, or speech therapist has mentioned
Once you schedule, we'll send your new patient forms by email and text so you can fill them out before your visit.
Made for families
Our family rooms have seating for parents and space for siblings, so you can stay close the whole time. Kids get to see their own scans on the screen, and we explain everything at their level too.
Parents are welcome in the room for every part of the visit.
New patient questions
How much is the airway consultation?
$350 for kids and adults. See financing and insurance for payment options.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed. Many patients are referred by their dentist, orthodontist, pediatrician, or another provider, and many come on their own.
How young can my child be seen?
We see children starting at age three, for early growth guidance and for tongue-tie evaluations. We don't treat infants.
Do adults need a sleep test first?
Most adults start with an at-home sleep test. If you already have a recent sleep study, bring it along.
Where do I park?
Parking is free, right outside the building at 14203 Minuteman Drive, just off the freeway. Look for the big Toothpillow sign on the building and come in through the main front door.
